Tram Ticket

It was one of those rare sunny days in Manchester.

I was on my way to work. Everything was going perfect until I got to the bus
stop and realised that there will be no bus for at least next 30 minutes and
if I wait, I’ll be late for work.

So I decided to walk and somehow went the wrong way and got lost. The street
was empty and the map on my phone didn’t work (everything seemed to be well
planned for me to be late for work). Finally, I found a tram stop. I was so happy
because I had some coins and could buy a ticket (usually I don’t have cash). I was
listening to my iPod, enjoying the sun and I knew that I will get to work on time
(if a tram comes). And then I saw a man trying to buy a ticket from the ticket
machine. But he couldn’t get it, because of whatever reason the machine didn’t
accept £5 notes. The man tried for a few times but then walked away.

I had a feeling in my heart that I just had to do something. I went to the
machine and guess what! The ticket was selected and I had exactly £2 in my
purse. So I bought the ticket and gave it to the man together with the ‘I
love my gen’ card. And walked away. He was surprised and a little puzzled.
It says on the card that ‘I made your day’. However, he made my day. It
feels so good to do something for others.
